Dignity Serves

Dignity Serves is the foundational Polis study taught by trained facilitators that teaches you how to properly engage the talents of others. This is the true heart of service - inspiring servanthood rather than merely meeting apparent needs.

Dignity Serves Facilitator Training

Dignity Serves is a powerful tool in the hands of a well-trained facilitator. Polis trains you to apply the core principles to your group and how to respond to questions and the emotional journey experienced by many participants.

Training is 4 hours and costs $99. All materials are provided. Please contact Rebecca@polisinstitute.org for upcoming training dates and locations.

CityWise

Polis Institute offers a 12-month certificate program in ABCD called CityWise. Students get directly involved in distressed neighborhoods identified through the Neighborhood Stress Index and help residents build businesses, ministries, and a stronger community. Students may also receive college credit for their work.

Leadership Coaching

Polis Institute guides leaders of service organizations in where and how to act in the city so that well-being is enhanced and distress alleviated. We assist leaders through mirroring and focused exercises that link activities to programs to mission to outcomes. Our tools will help you prove your effectiveness and improve your strategies so that you can make the difference that you were made to make.

Service First

Polis Institute guides service learning experiences which benefit the community. From homeless individuals to those with vast amounts of wealth, everyone has something to give and something to learn. Polis connects people with opportunities to serve others directly and provides tools that teach valuable lessons on human worth. Phil Hissom and Niki Wilkerson led a workshop on the Service First model at the 2011 CCDA conference.

Service Projects to Development

Polis helps you migrate traditional service projects such as Thanksgiving Basket Handouts and Backpack Drives to developmental initiatives such as small businesses. This training was taught at the 2010 Christian Community Development Association conference. Audio of the workshop is available here.
