improving well-being in the city

ABCD
Polis intends to guide successful Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) efforts in each of the 100 distressed neighborhoods of Greater Orlando and believes this will improve well-being in measurable ways. We coach leaders to incorporate developmental principles into existing programs, train volunteers to engage the talents of others, and remain directly involved in community building.

Upcoming Training Dates

One of One Hundred: The Polis office is located on Orange Blossom Trail in Palms Trailer Park which is one of the one hundred distressed neighborhoods of Greater Orlando. Our focus is on maintaining a positive and consistent presence, building dignified relationships, and working to engage the talents of everyone. We use our direct experience and research to train other non-profits how best to address poverty. Our core training is Dignity Serves.

The Palms Community Center (PCC) is available for Internet usage, counseling, and fellowship. It has been made possible by grants from Home Depot Foundation and First Baptist Orlando and through the hard work of key volunteers from Palms Trailer Park, NewCity, Summit Church, and Central Care Mission.

Get Involved! - PCC is also home to the Polis offices. We can always use help. Contact us at info@polisinstitute.org.
